Don't think outside the square II
Puzzle 18 2 August 2009
Eighteen months
on and I'm still working in the same office, I'm still being told to "think
outside the square", and it still drives me up the wall. Update
23 April 2010: I no longer work there.
Anyway, have a go at the puzzle below which requires you to think of nothing but squares. You can print it off in a nice PDF format here. The object, as always, is to fill the grid using the clues provided, only this time every clue is an expression which must be equated to a square number.
"Across"
and "Down" are not specified as each letter only corresponds to
one answer.
No number begins with zero.
A calculator could come in handy!
For easy reference, the PDF contains a list of all three-digit
square numbers.
Just remember it's not rocket science, you won't have to reinvent the wheel, and completing the grid will certainly enhance any mathematical puzzle-solving experiences you may have going forward!
All of these must be square numbers:
N ÷
5
O
P 7Z
Q
R + T
S ÷ 5
U
2V
W + 5X
Y + Z
A
B
C ÷ M
D
D + F
E
H
I + Q
J
3K + L
2M G
